Hi, I’m Craig.
I’m an attorney, a dad, a member of my church community, and a gardener. Those things aren’t as different as they sound — all of them are about paying attention, showing up consistently, and caring about getting things right.
I started Best Garden Channel because I was frustrated. Most gardening content online fell into one of two categories: either it was so basic it was useless, or it assumed you already had a 5,000-square-foot plot and a greenhouse. There wasn’t much for the person who just wanted to grow tomatoes on a suburban lot without wasting $200 on mistakes.
So I started testing things myself. Soil mixes. Raised bed brands. Watering schedules. Fertilizers. I filmed what worked, talked about what didn’t, and put it on YouTube.
What this channel is actually about
Best Garden Channel is practical gardening content for real people. Everything I post is based on things I’ve actually done in my own garden. If I haven’t tested it, I don’t recommend it. If something didn’t work the way I expected, I say so.
I’m not trying to be the most prolific gardening channel on YouTube. I’m trying to be the most useful one for someone who is just getting started and wants honest, tested information — not recycled advice from 15-year-old gardening books.
The community
One of the things I’m most proud of is the Great Big Garden Community Facebook group. It’s a group of over 38,500 gardeners — mostly beginners — who share what’s working, ask questions, and help each other out. It’s genuinely one of the best corners of the internet and I’m glad we built it.
